This is how the albumcover presents itself to the new album '' AOUM '' by Billion One. After three records and a few eps his new album will be released on Bunte Liebe Records. For almost 50 minutes, Sven Strohschnieder sounds a warmth that takes the synapses to an auditory nature trip. One synthetic layer slides over the other, completing the overall sound and lifting it into higher atmospheres. Billion One hikes on AOUM through electronic music; using ambient, downtempo / hip hop beats and house beats. Complex electronic sounds gain organic depth due to his sensitivity to sound and arrangement. He ennobles his tracks with pitched / chopped vocal samples. He is not concerned with content-related topics; he wants that the people inhale the melody, as it heard for example at '' Perfect Places ''.
AOUM is able to create suspense: After the danceable '' My Panda Shall Fly '' follows the beatstudy '' We Did Ok '', then the ambient-heavy '' Leaving The Universe ''. The versatility of the record is also reflected in the last track, a rework for UK-based artist Tiny Leaves. If there were not the small breaks between the tracks, it would seem that everything is blurring: timbres, melodies, instruments.
The album creates a thoroughly comfortable feeling with unique sound layers. It claims to merge an atmospheric-dreamy and psychedelic level with a house-oriented dynamic.

So präsentiert sich das Albumcover zur neuen Platte ''AOUM'' von Billion One. Nach drei Alben und einigen Eps erscheint sein neues Album auf Bunte Liebe Records. Fast 50 Minuten lässt Sven Strohschnieder eine Wärme erklingen, die die Synapsen auf einen auditiven Naturtrip entführt. Eine Synthieschicht schiebt sich über die andere, ergänzt den Gesamtsound und hebt ihn in höhere Atmosphären. Auf AOUM wandert Billion One durch die elektronische Musik, bedient sich bei Ambient, Downtempo/Hiphopbeats und Housebeats. Komplexe elektronische Sounds gewinnen dank Feingefühl für Klang und Arrangement organische Tiefe. Er garniert seine Tracks mit gepitchten/gechoppten Vocal-Samples. Dabei geht es ihm nicht um inhaltliche Themen, sondern um das Einatmen der Melodie, wie z. B. bei ''Perfect Places''.
AOUM ist in der Lage Spannung zu erzeugen: Nach dem tanzbaren ''My Panda Shall Fly'' folgt die Beatstudie ''We Did Ok'', daraufhin das ambientlastige ''Leaving The Universe''. Die Vielseitigkeit der Platte spiegelt sich auch in dem letzten Track, ein Rework für den in UK lebenden Künstler Tiny Leaves, wieder.
Wären dort nicht die kleinen Pausen zwischen den Tracks, hätte es den Anschein, dass alles verschwimmt: Klangfarben, Melodien, Instrumente.
Das Album erzeugt mit einzigartigen Klangschichten ein durch und durch wohliges Gefühl. Es hat den Anspruch ein atmosphärisch-träumerisches und psychedelisches Level mit einer House-orientierten Dynamik verschmelzen zu lassen.
